Hi everyone.  Well we are coming over in two weeks and Brittany ferries have booked our 2 dogs on so it's still okay to bring them as far as I'm aware.

Just remember that you may have to book up your ferry [ with a dog ] anything up to a year ahead as there are so few spaces on the boats  for dog cabins and kennels , you may get lucky and get a cancellation ...!!!!

We booked this ferry with a pet friendly cabin  Last July.  We are now booking this month to get a pet friendly cabin for next summer. We managed to get a dog friendly cabin outbound but kennels on in bound trip as no pet friendly rooms left. And that was even booking a year ago.

Hi,

Just to add that there will be a lot more restrictions and hoops to jump through for your pet after December and some are saying it can take upto four months for blood tests etc ......sounds loads more aggro then what you have to do at the moment!

I for one will be restricting taking our little old girl to n fro in the future as it sounds to stressful for her😩

Hi Jenny,

Basil Brush is correct.  From 1 January 2021, you will probably have to allow a minimum of 4 months to comply with post-Brexit vaccination and documentation requirements for pet travel into Europe, as UK issued pet passports are unlikely to be valid in the EU:

Kind regards,

Kim

Thank you for your replies.  I'm stressing already as I was coming out in February and it seems there will be new requirements. I was going to fly her over with me.

Hi Beth111,

I seem to remember that the Gov.UK website suggested you need around 4 months to organise the documentation for travelling with your pet, but perhaps it can be done quicker - I'd suggest contacting your vet today to get a definitive response.

Kind regards,

Kim
