Hi All

I am planning to fly to Spain mid August with my family of four and another family of four. We will be staying in two different apartments. Will we be able to spend time at each other’s apartment? Will we be able to be on the beach together and go for meals in a restaurant together etc? Sorry if these seem silly questions. Thanks in advance

Not silly questions but too soon to answer.

If tourists don't behave themselves and the virus starts to take off again then it's entirely possible that parts of Spain could be placed back in partial lock down and arrivals - if allowed in at all - subject to self isolation.

If that happens then amongst the Spanish and others who live here tourists will be about as welcome as a fart in an elevator!

As it stands you will be able to socialise together but August is the busiest month as most of Spain closes down and heads to the coast and with reduced capacity in bars and restaurants there could be a lot of waiting for tables. Many beaches are taped off into areas for a max of 4 people and again you may have to wait for access. Community pools are still subject to strict measures on numbers so you may well have to book your time there as well. Masks are still mandatory whenever distancing cannot be guaranteed which will be most of the time and it is best not to argue with the Spanish police.
Mass gatherings are still banned but you will, in effect, be right in the middle of one.
