My wife and I bought a new home in Polop, and want to verify that our place has fiberoptic coverage by some company. So far we have called several companies without success. They generally say that there is no coverage. Is it because there is no occupation permit yet?

have you tried movistar or vodaphone' they are the 2 big suppliers in spain. a lot of the other companies supply from them.
i have movistar and it is not fibreoptic but the service is first class.

If unsure who supplies your area the easiest way it to look around for fibre junction boxes on nearby houses and phone poles, and look at the sticker on the box to see who operates it. Or ask neighbours.

Do you mean to tell me that there is likely to be a provider, I just have not found it? is it possible that there is only one in Polop de la Marina?

A quick google suggests avanzatel, avatel, dragonnet have some form of fibra coverage in Polop. Whether or not they supply your actual street / house is another thing especially if you are in the campo... ask neighbours, local bar, town hall even, or look for the fibre boxes on walls and poles...
