Hi Edwina

Yes. That is what Im going to do ... what the Spanish Pretoria lady recommended.

To apply from the Spanish Embassy in SA was a LOT of documents etc etc etc and would take up to 9 months!!! ... and it seems that the National Police in Spain 'consider' your application in a more 'less documents' way!! (I think?). The National Police in Spain are more familiar with the procedure ... whereby the Spanish Embassy officials in Pretoria seem to be VERY bureaucratic, and all docs have to be vetted in Madrid etc, via diplomatic post between SA and Spain. That is why I just decided to come over on holiday ... and then to deal with residencia through our 'family' property interests in Spain etc.

What is most important to prove with your application, is that you have full private health insurance ... and sufficient funds to support yourself for 12 months (temp residence period etc)

But Im not 100% sure about the exact procedure. I will work through it when Im in Spain.

All the best with your application.

Regards

Laurence

Hi Richard

Yeh, there are quite a few South Africans immigrating to Spain (with all the political sh#t happening in SA).

I have lived in Spain before and know the Costa Blanca well. Lovely place to live.

I will surely join your Facebook Group. What is it called?

Regards

Laurence
