Hi all

We are coming out to Costa Blanca south in March to view properties. We need help in choosing estate agents that will provide us with good, reliable and honest service.

We been looking at Citrine Real Estate, Casas Manuel, Spanish Legal Homes, Smartsell and Solmar. Anyone used these agents? What are your views? Any other estate agents that you would recommend? All help gratefully received.

You don't need an agent. Do the research yourself on one of the many on line sites. Do yourself a shortlist of the ones you like and contact the agents marketing them and arrange a viewing

Its a cliché that you need an agent to drive you around all day looking at properties you haven't previously researched.

You will get lots of posts telling you how wonderful the agent they used was. But let's be honest the agents job is solely to make money on the back of you.

Old International are very welcoming, professional and very well established. They have 3 offices in the area, pop into their office in La Zenia Boulevard it's in the Alcampo mall. Ask for Pete and you'll get a good honest zero pressue agent who will listen to you.

Hi Gary

I would go with the advice of 271935, do your search on line well in advance, get a list of the properties and contact a few different agents asking if they could arrange visits with you. Even though a property may be listed by a certain agent, exclusivity is not the norm and they will get the details and keys from other agents if there is potential for a sale, as both agents will benefit from this. Downside is that the agent will want to show you other properties too that they are trying to sell, and if they are taking you around then it could be a long day!

We did the same a few years ago when we bought our property, which we didn’t see on-line before we flew out - it just happened that we contacted the agent beforehand regarding another property and they ended up showing us the one that we ended up buying! Ore-research is well & good, but there are a lot of additional properties that you probably won’t see on-line, these are the ones that the agents will try to guide you too....

We did our research and ended up with 3 different agents taking us out over 4 days, picked us up and dropped us back at our hotel, and we ended up seeing 30+ properties across the region, ended up buying the 2nd one we saw!

Good luck with your search!

Hi Gary.

I just bought a property in Punta Prima. I used easyadds they are located in La Zenia next to Punta Prima. Stick with one estate agent other wise you will be bombarded with emails etc from other estate agents as I found out. I hope this helps good luck with your house hunting.
