Airport delays

Hi

has Anybody passed through departures at Alicante Airport in the past 48hrs. If so did you notice any considerable delays going through security and Passport Control, It’s normally seamless and efficient whenever we use it.

We’ve had a couple of emails from the airline telling us to arrive hours earlier than normal due to possible delays. I know that everyone is required to arrive early etc, just wanted to know if it’s anything out of the ordinary for this time of year.

We came back to the UK on Monday morning through Alicante. Security took approximately 5 minutes and passport control was about the same. This was our 6th trip in and out of Alicante this year and the most we have been held up is 25 minutes coming into Alicante through passport control ( a few flights all trying to get through at once). All the other times it’s been really smooth both ways.

We travel fairly frequently and rarely have any issues at Alicante, hence why I was a bit confused with the email that I received.
