I live in UK with a house in Punta Prima. I have noticed on a bank statement that in May and Oct this year I have paid 2 lots of Suma. Titled Taxes Suma Gestion Tributaria.
Can anyone explain the extra payment this year.

The ones in May will be the rubbish collection tax which is taken either once or twice a year depending on your council. It is also the time they take annual car tax. The rubbish collection tax used to be on your water bills but have been taken off. Same amount but just direct to SUMA now.
The one in October is IBI or Council tax. If you pay the rubbish collection tax in two stages that will also come off in October.

SUMA is actually the agency that collects your IBI (similar to the rates in the UK) and road tax on behalf of your local town hall.
