Tax Time

Hi - I'm not even sure you need to, but others will confirm.

This year is our first resident tax year and we were not asked for such. The Spanish bank account, yes and that is a pretty skinny declaration along the lines of what is the average balance etc.

I have read that the Spanish authorities would like to know what assets you have, but in themselves, they are not taxed.

If you have income in the UK, say from a house rental, then that is subject to tax here.

You may need some proper help in terms of a consultant.

I am with Sabadell Bank and they automatically place and end of year tax report in your online banking app.

Yes, me too. If the Tributaria want it they can go in and get it!

However, I registered for tax as a permanent resident in 2017 and wasn't asked for the statement referred to. Maybe it's a new thing or maybe a post Brexit thing or maybe it's not actually required. Have the Tributaria asked you directly for this TheNomads?

I pay a Gestor 65€ to complete and file my annual return and I regard that as excellent value for peace of mind and minimum hassle.

That is pretty good value Steve, especially for peace of mind and filing.

I think it's only 65€ because I use them for other things Gestoria wise, and have used their Abogado too. I'm sure I could file it myself as my Spanish is reasonable but it's the peace of mind that all the right boxes are filled in and filled in correctly.
