Good morning

I bought a small trailer from the UK a while ago. Does it need to be registered before I can use it?

Many thanks for replying so quickly. I just hope there's no further legal requirements for me to use it on the road.

If its under 750kgs  should be ok , make sure that it has a + spec plate on it showing axle and total weight [ if no plate on it , blank plates can be got from ebay and then get a jeweller to laser engrave the details for  you ] .

Local police wont bother you much unless its in a bad state or overloaded , Guardia ,if stopped are only interested [ if its loaded ok ] in the id plate showing weights , this is base on recent  local experience with routine checks, no plate equals 200 euro fine, [ and i was ok ] .

Needless to say that it should be in good road worthy condition and fitted with trailer [ load rated ] tyres as these have larger ply rating than ordinary car tyres and are stamped accordingly ..!!
