Hi all,  a friend is shortly coming out to Spain and wishes to purchase a secondhand car here.  Only problem is he does not want to spend a lot, and is hoping that he may find something in the region of 3000 euros.   Preferably a hatchback or estate car and diesel, though the latter is not important.  Can anyone recommend a dealer who may have something in this price region?

Used cars in spain are usually overpriced. There is also a special transfer tax payable on top of the purchase price depending on make and age of the vehicle, not shape. Is I were you I would look elsewhere. Habe a look at www.utoscout24.com..

Hi....I've heard a few people praise Club Cars on the top end of La Marina Urb by the petrol station.

I can't vouch for them myself.

I bought one privately myself a out 4 years ago and it was relatively easy including the transfer as I used a gestor to do this for me. I've heard a few horror stories since doing this with cars having fines attached to them which caused people a nightmare. So unless you know the person very well, I would buy from a dealer who has been around for a while and let them do everything for you.

Good luck with your quest.

I would not touch Club Cars, they ripped us off, the car they sold for 5000 was a piece of muck, be careful

Well here's one dissatisfied customer. Good to know.

Thank you all for your information.   It has been quite an eye-opener.  I shall be extra wary now.
