Stores had absolutely no issues prior to 1st January, funny how there is no reporting on any of the U.K. news outlets of border issues. Maybe it’s because it’s only outgoing goods effected, U.K. is still allowing everything to come in with no change in requirements!

Where do you get the idea that there have been no changes for bringing goods into the UK?

I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t getting your comfort foods but I’m not surprised. Sometimes I think nobody cares.

Can you imagine how you would feel if you were living in NI which is part of the U.K.? Amazon won’t deliver to us anymore, nor will John Lewis and loads more. Everything coming here has to have a customs form completed and duty paid as well. I did a virtual shop with the Ralph Lauren Outlet shop in Bicester Village. It was a zoom call shared with my daughter and sister so delighted with all our purchases until I received an email explaining that they couldn’t ship it to us and would refund. Simple as that. I was furious and disappointed as was looking forward to getting my clothes. After a lot of difficulty, they got their head office to do the customs label snd duty sorted and it was then shipped over. In order for us to return anything, we have to send it to Zweibucken ( can’t spell). Living here is a nightmare. The Unionists are trying to do something to sort it out but the Nationalists won’t permit any changes  at all. They see it as a political issue while we folk see it as everyday life. What chance do we have?  You have more chance of getting your ginger nuts and Salad cream than we gave of getting our orders from the mainland.

Well at least we’re not desperately searching for the infinitely inferior Australian version - Vegemite, which is really foul!!!!

Oi oi oi are we talking about the original and the best of these 2 comparisons.

Vegemite has been around for well over a 100 hundred years. So who is the inferior copier here.

All you hater's of these delicate tastes have to realise it's something you have as a child. Most people trying to have this as an adult will always struggle.

Vegemite or Marmite..

Enjoy them both.

EU truckers don’t want to make deliveries to the UK because they return empty, no return load. Uneconomical.

Strict EU regulations means tons of forms and paperwork for each EU country, country of origin for each ingredient, signed off by a veterinary, translated etc. Multi-country loads are a nightmare.

Amazon are delivering to N.I. so this is untrue. Plenty of food in our stores too especially Lidl. Unionist DUP supported the NI Protocol but now realise the damage they have done and trying to row back and have an International Treaty binned. No chance of that happening? I'd take peace in N.I.over gingernuts every time.

Hey, nothing wrong with Vegemite, but you probably have to grow up with it. Interesting I can buy it at the Spanish family run supermarket in La Florida (La Zenia) and the Scandinavian supermarket at Punta Prima. €5 for 260g jar if anyone else out there loves it!
