Has anyone been affected at Alicante airport by the strikes that have been taking place with the baggage handlers?. I am more asking about delays on arrivals at Alicante , collecting your baggage, and not departures from the airport . We are due to arrive in a couple of weeks on a date and exact time that the strike is due to take place

Maybe not, it appears that departures are more effected than arrivals. It’s the company that do. Security that are striking and I believe they are more prominent at departures where it’s police / border guards on the way in. I maybe wrong and I am sure if I am I will be told!

I'm also flying back into Alicante on Thursday - will post after that if there were any major issues re arrivals.

On days of strike action, the strikes are 2 hours in the AM and 2 hours in the PM, with associated delays afterwards. Plan your arrival at the airport around these hours.

strike action will be taking place for 1 hour twice a day: from 8.45am to 9.45am and from 6pm to 7pm.

If your flight is on time or delayed, by the time the aircraft reaches the gate and disembarkation commences, it should be after 7pm!
