I'm also flying back into Alicante on Thursday - will post after that if there were any major issues re arrivals.

My flight arrived on time at 17.25 local time Thursday.

Walked  off the plane shortly after, through passport control by 17.40 and caught the 18.00 bus to Torrevieja.

So all ran incredibly smoothly from an arrival perspective - albeit given the times of the strike are outside of the time I arrived then that is probably  of little help to anyone who arrives in that zone.

My flight was also ok apart from a 1 hour delay at East Midlands with no communication of what was going on, Alicante was fine, no problems at all 😃

I think that the delays would be more for departures from Alicante airport between 9am and 11/12am, and 7pm to 9/10pm.

Has anyone flown out during these times? Were you delayed?

If security/bagge drop stop work at 8:45am, then there's bound to be a backlog of people waiting to get airside. Has anybody experienced any delays outbound? Or did you go to the airport a little earlier?

Cheers.

Hi all, as per PeterPans post, has anyone flown out of Alicante airport around the time of the planned morning strike 8.45am to 9.45am? I have a flight on 24th November at 10.25am. Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Regards

Anne

Hi All

Just an update on travelling from Alicante airport to the U.K. on 24th November on a strike day.

I flew out yesterday, my flight was at 10.25am. I arrived at departures for 8.10am, straight to security as I don’t have any hold luggage. I went through the security in 5 minutes, the queues weren’t too bad. I then made my way to gate B,no queue straight through. The passport control desk had 2 officers and I was the only person there.
The strike was due to start at 08.45 until 09.45 and shortly before that announcements were made at regular intervals to advise to go to passport control, as there could be longer queuing times than normal.

I returned from Alicante yesterday 24/11/23 on the 10.05 to East Midlands, everything went smoothly with no big queues or delays, if there was strike action it wasn’t noticeable

I suspect it's only noticeable on outgoing flights as it affects security, checkin & baggage drop.
