Hola

Flying to UK 26th April. Need a pre flight test and day 2/day 8 test in self isolation. As this all adds up to a considerable amount of money for us as a couple, will the antigen test be acceptable at the airport and on arrival in UK? Looking to save a bit of money this end if possible!! Read gov websites. Understand the spec of the antigen test has to be met but has anyone any actual proof of this test being accepted/rejected by Ryanair or border force. Know I can get antigen test in laboratory in Santa Pola or Imed but looking for a bit of reassurance that it  won't be rejected by authorities.

Thank you.

Hi Ej61

Many people, including myself, have travelled back to the U.K. having had an antigen test. Absolutely acceptable. 🤪🥂

Thank you.

Please be careful booking your Day 2 and Day 8 tests. We used 001 Doctor and they have totally failed to deliver. We paid £364 for a service that does not meet legal requirements (day 2 test kit received on day 6 and we still haven't got the results and it's day 10. Day test kit will be delivered tomorrow at day 11!!!!) We had to use the nhs testing service for our day 8 test

Please make sure you  read reviews for day 2 and day 8 test providers. I wouldn't want you to suffer the same experience we, and many other have

All the best

Hey

Thanks.  That is a disgrace.  Contract broken by them. Compensation????

We are flying to England and then train to Edinburgh. I haven't ordered the tests yet but from what I did see, Scottish government not allowing purchase of these kits from gov reg private companies.  They are bought direct from gov.  So we will see.  The whole thing is a money making exercise!!!!!

Thanks for your advice but like you we are in their hands.

That cost is totally prohibitive for families. Just a money making exercise - disgraceful

Thank you and good luck with your claim.

Yes it's disgraceful but we have to pay, unfortunately.  As holidaymakers we have actually overstayed our 90 days and our vaccine appointments at home have had to be cancelled and will be rescheduled. We go home in 2 weeks.  This is our fifth flight reservation, previous 4 cancelled.  In order to avoid £2k for hotel quarantine in Scotland (another rip off), we also have to sit on a train for 4 hours.

Never mind we will be out of self isolation just in time to vote!!!!!!
