I haven’t been to the Pola mar for a few weeks ... it certainly is much quieter in the summer . There are usually a few English speaking people there on a Thursday evening so it might still be worth a visit to ‘network ‘ & socialise. 

If you really want to learn Spanish then I recommend getting formal lessons. Try the local Centro Civico for dates and costs . It’s another good way to meet people !

Hi Lisa

I joined the spanish beginners class at the Centro Civico behind the castle in Santa pola.  The class runs from October till June and costs around 80€.  There are two classes which run twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.  Each class lasts an hour and a half which is good value for money.  The exercise books are a little expensive but you can buy them in one of the local shops in town.  I have two that I'm planning to sell when I return in september.

Just ask the receptionist at the front desk if you can speak to the spanish teacher or tell the receptionist you want to join the spanish class and she will give you  a form to fill in.

P.S I don't know if the Centro civico is closed for the summer break perhaps it's best to pop along and find out.

Thank you for your email.  You can buy the books from Sonidos y Letres Carrer d'Elx 25 Santa pola but they're a bit pricy.  I have both books but you'd better check with the teacher which books she will be using this term.  I'm coming to Santa Pola 5 September.  I'll bring them with me.  If you want to buy the m we'll decide on a price.
