Hi,

When you say self-catering do you mean a holiday let?

For long-term rental you could try online at thinkspain.com or idealista.com/en

You can specify what you are looking for and 'save your search' so they will email you regularly with properties as they come onto the market. Really useful.

If you are already near La Marina you could pop into the local inmobiliarias - estate agents, though I don't know that area.

I'm in Santa Pola and in January I popped into 6 local inmobiliarias and told them what I was looking for. They were really helpful, I saw 5 places within 2 days and on the second day found the flat I'm now in. Luckily my Spanish is good enough to understand contracts, so I was able to make a decision there and then, once we had ironed out a few wrinkles.

Best of luck.

thank you for your help.

I was thinking of a house rental or similar. - either Santa pola - la marina - Alicante.

with pool if possible. if you know of anyone who would be willing let their villa in La Marina ?

just for myself. - quiet responsible person

which urbanisation in La marina is nearer to the beach ? I understand there are several urbanisations .

`also there is a bus from the airport to la Marina. do you know which urbanisation the bus goes to ?

Hi,

I'm afraid I can't help regarding renting in the La Marina area - I've been in Alicante since before the pandemic and only moved this year to Santa Pola.

The nearest urbanisation to the beach is Urbanización Buenavista, about 1km south of La Marina. It's very small, but you have The Dunes de la Marina - national park - right on your doorstep. The much larger Urb. Marina-Comercial is about 1km further in from the beach.

There is an hourly bus service from Alicante Airport (ALC) to La Marina.

For travel, I recommend you look at Rome2rio.com and download the app. You can enter any origin and destination (in your case Alicante Airport/LaMarina Valencia) and it displays all the options with a lot of detail - it's a must-have for getting around - anywhere anytime.

In that case, you should really be looking at Santa Pola, or possibly, Guardamar which is much hillier than Santa Pola.  I live in Santa Pola, and can walk anywhere in town in 15 minutes plus it is almost completely flat down around the beaches, port and La Glorieta.  I gave up driving over a year ago, and haven't regretted it once.  I rent a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath, fully furnished apartment, with a panoramic view of the Med and 5 minutes from the port for €650 + utilities. Tons of great restaurants, a really active chess club (if you like to play chess), and very nice people; mostly Spanish, but there are quite a few English speaking expats who live there.  It's a magical place.

I appreciate your advice yet I am seeking a house rather than apartment - something with small garden - near to the airport with  bus journey direct to la marina urbanisations.. 20 mins from airport. I see the urbanisations in La marina are massive, but there must be something within walking distance or bus ride to the beaches.. and facilities. \Santa Pola is mainly apartments.. whereas La Marina has a selection of small houses at a realistic price.

Can I ask. Did you find any areas that suited what you were looking for?

I had similar requirements and found only Gran Alacant to match. Going out late September to look but would be helpful to hear from others in similar situation.

Thanks

hi again ... I only asked because I hoped you may have information about La Marina Urbanisation. .? where property is cheaper than Santa Pola ?  Also La Marina is more Ex Pat community. what have you learned about La Marina ? and which urbanisation is closest to the Beach .  I see it is a sprawling estate of thousands of properties.
