Mil Palmeras in the low season

We are currently having a few days in La Zenia (43 degrees was unexpected!) and took to the car for the aircon.  Came across Mil Palmeras this afternoon which has a great beach and seemingly quite a few good restaurants, shops etc although we did not get out of the car for a walk around.  Was wondering if anybody on the forum has experienced what it is like in Feb/Mar time as we might be thinking of a long term rent over that period next year?

We had friends who came over  last December/January. They stayed in a beautiful apartment but found it was way too quiet for them. Very little entertainment  of an evening and If they wanted to have a beer and watch the football, they had to take a taxi ride. Even though they were within walking distance of the little strip in Mil Palmeras, the bars were very quiet. They ended up moving after the first month to Cabo Roig.

We spend the Winter in Playa Flamenca and often travel to Mil Palmeras . It's a beautiful place but very little open in Winter and Spring . Most of the houses and apartments are unoccupied that time of year

Hi

As others have suggested - it's dead in winter.

Cheers

Morning All,

Thank you so much for the very useful responses so it appears by consensus of opinion that Mil Palmeras is not the place for a long term rent during Feb - Mar.

We are not looking for nightlife as such just a few restaurants, shops/supermarket but not too far from a beach so in the opinion of forum members where would you advise to look.  We appreciate that this is a forum for Torre de la Horadada and that, along with Lo Pagan are on our shortlist but with a couple of days left (we fly back on Monday), was wondering if there was anywhere else that we should take a drive to?

As I said in my previous reply we spend time in Alicante in Winter / Spring . When we retired we rented in Playa Flamenca for two years and then bought there . Its nice that time of year ,not too busy and most bars and restaurants are open . We find there is always something to do ,from Spanish classes to Golf and lots more within walking distance .  We are also only a five minute walk to the beach and only 15 minute walk from la zenia Boulevard

Following on from my post regarding Cabo Roig. You could possibly visit at the moment  and feel as though it’s too vibrant for you. It’s certainly very busy summer evenings. It’s a different place in the winter.

There’s only 30% of the restaurants open with around 20% of the current footfall. You still have some acts on in bars, but you’ll also find that the bars close much earlier in the winter months.

Thanks Lynn.  Might take a drive round there this evening after dinner.

Hi you will find most urbanisations are quite in winter, but the weather compensates for that surely. Winter is over before you know it .🤗🌞

Hi

If you sign up for pilar de horadada tourist information updates you will receive information about the free weekend events on Mil Palmares Beach. I go to the yoga, pilates, zumba etc every weekend and they are really well attended. These events are only in the winter, so ideal for February and March.
