Hi

We are looking for a “GP” near Torre. We have insurance with ASSSA.

We went to the Clinica Virgen Del Pilar and they were very efficient. However the doctor speaks a very small amount of English and it is hard to communicate about specifics.

Is anyone aware of any doctors in the area who are fluent English speakers? Need to be covered by ASSSA

Thank you

Hello

My best advice to you is to get a translator & communicate  through them.   Spanish Drs are not obliged to speak English and many wont , a being medical  problems, the risks are too high that something  could be missed .

I had a spanish Dr for 15yrs and never saw her without my translator.

Of course you must see someone who is recommended by your insurer, contact them for advice.

Cheers

Yes we are considering a translator. Before going down that route I just wanted to ask here in case people were aware of a doctor who speaks good English.

You can ask for someone who speaks English, I have never had issue in private hospitals with English speaking. If you download the app of either your hospital or your insurance provider you can book specific doctors in most departments.

Dra. Pastora Miguel Alvarez in Pinar De Campoverde speaks very good English and deals with ASSSA as they are our insurers also. You can book time slots online and will arrange any appointments at the hospital if required.

He's not a ASSSA doctor. He's Spanish National Health.
