Hi

I am looking for an electrician as our house electrics keep tripping for some reason. It’s not happening all the time but just so frustrating.

Hi

It is possible to find the coming from of your electric issue at distance. I think you have not suficient power contract with your provider, so when you use too much electric machine in same time, the fuse jump and cut all electricity in your home.

So first, what is the delivery power you have in your electric contract ?

Hi Steve

Yours is a very common problem.

The first thing to understand is that electricity contracts in Spain include a limit on how many Kilowatts you can draw at any single moment. In my case it is 3.3kw. Now, my water boiler draws around 1.5, as does my oven, so with both on at the same time that's 3kw - leaving only 0.3kw available for anything else, So if I put the Aircon on, the power will trip out.

If this is not your problem, then the other common problem is the element in the oven  - often develop faults.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks for this info Steve. We have been here for nearly a week & it hadn’t happened yet BUT I did notice that when we arrived there were 2 lights where bulbs had blown so maybe that was the issue (bulbs were old & not energy efficient so all been replaced now)
