Ok Steve. We all get that you dont have a dog and dont like dogs. However your comments are voicing your opinion and not everyone else's.

If you can point out a post of mine where it says that I don't like dogs then I will apologise profusely,  so what post is it.......

The main point I have been making is that "some" dog owners do not keep their dogs as clean as they should do!! Some owners let their dog poop on the pavement and don't clean up after them, therefore dirty dogs on buses don't figure.

All those defending dog owners please tell me......do you have dog poop on any of your local pavements?

I have not throughout this thread blamed dogs for anything,  it's the owners who need to look after them better!

I have read all your posts and as ever, people have gone off on a tangent and vented their dislike of dogs and even “ wanes”

A person has asked about getting a bus and taking her little dog with her. That’s all. Clearly, the lady intends to use the bus service to get from A to B but will have her small dog with her. I genuinely feel sorry that she will now be upset by all these ghastly comments as well as knowing that she cannot travel by bus if she has her dog with her. Yes, some people have allergies but if the dog is being transported in a suitable carrier I cannot see why she shouldn’t be allowed to travel with it. A blind or partially sighted person is permitted to travel with a dog ( understandably) so it can’t be for reasons if allergies that dogs aren’t allowed to travel on a bus. Presumably it is for safety’s sake and if that is the case, a small dog in a carrier should be acceptable.

Hello

Whatever the reason, the bottom line is -- animals on buses are not allowed here and haven't been the 18yrs Ive lived here.

A while ago it  cost me 2 x taxi fares to take my cat, in a carrier, to a vet when I could have travelled free with my bus card  but rules are rules ,  so if you don't have transport or  can't walk there then call a cab & let them know you are travelling with an animal as not all drivers are accepting of this.

I havent seen anyone say they dislike dogs!!

Cheers

The reason most travel companies do not allow dogs is because of humans with allergies.

Are assistance dogs allowed on buses and in shops in Valencia? I ask because I have never seen any assistance dogs in Spain.

Assistance dogs are allowed yes. I feel the pain of the lady as I also want to take my dog and cannot go anywhere by bus. A difficult situation.

Unfortunately elinspain, it always goes the same. Someone posts a question. Some relevant helpful answers, then there's always one has to put a personal spin on the question. This then causes reactions to that totally irrelevant answer.

I don't want to travel on a bus that has had a dog anywhere near my seat. In Benidorm you can't take a dog in a taxi either.

Steve

Why hes in a pet cage might not be anywere near you but it's ok to travel with humans because they wear a mask
