We will be holidaying there in August. I am as capable of social distancing as any expats who live in Spain. Whatever you see on the biased BBC most of us are doing ok here in UK thank you

You dead right there, don't listen to all the nonsense you hear on the msm there just trying to keep all the scare mongering going.have a great holiday

Myself and my husband, are booked to go to Torrevieja this August,  I am a bit scared, this year with all the talk about not going away this year.

I have been in Torrevieja since Feb and am due home to the UK on July 27th but I may still cancel .

Everything here is so much safer and everyone follows the rules. That does not seem to be the case in the UK.

The beaches are taped to show where you can sit with spacing (see pic) . Most restaurants are open and if course we sit outside. They are well managed.

If Covid spikes in UK again I  staying here. Much safer.

Any other questions , please ask

Richard

I am also coming over to my second home on the 9th August and I'm looking forward to staying in Torrevieja till the end of October. I have more faith in the Spanish systems than the ones we have in the UK - the figures speak for themselves. Nowhere is 100% safe but I think Spain's strict and speedy decision making puts ours to shame.

Don't believe everything you see on the BBC. Spain currently have more flare ups and locked down areas than UK

It's Ok here in UK, as it is in Spain too. If you are sensible you are OK in either country

I was sat outside a Spanish bar in Torrevieja - mostly Spaniards over 60 years old from what I saw and the ones who were inside (watching football on TV) had ZERO social distancing or mask wearing despite all having masks on their persons. It was crowded and a small bar so much so that I wore a mask outside where I could see the TV from there. Funny thing was- they only put them on when going outside for a fag break - probably not wanting to get a police fine....but could not care less about getting or passing Covid-19.

This is reference the quote Bias BBC I watch the Spanish news a lot more than the British tv are both station  not correct in transmitting the scenes from England of people showing  complete disregard for any Covid-19 regulations.

There are some in UK ignoring the regulations but so are there some in Spain. There are anecdotal stories on this thread of Spanish people disregarding the rules on masks.

There are two areas of Spain on lockdown too.

Spanish TV probably get their information from British TV which is, by no means, telling the true story

Sorry but they are lying.

I live here most, but not all, are obeying the rules

If the Spanish were so good at social distancing why do they now have 2 different areas on new lockdown affecting nearly 300,000 people? Looks like Spain will be one of the first to have an official 'second wave'....

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-53299544

From my observations in Spain the older geezers only mask outside to avoid  a police fine....when in the bar they are all over each other !!!
