Hi

Can you tell me please why if you have your TIE and are a resident why would you need or even have an EHIC?

We have been residents for nearly 3 years and have private healthcare ,we are going to our local health centre next week to try and register and be put on the list for vaccination, I hope they don't want an EHIC as ours ran out 18 months ago.

Fingers crossed we get a sympathetic receptionist 😀

I became resident a few years ago and have green CUE, SIP and TSE cards.

I also still have my EHIC although I’ve never used it. It’s just still in my wallet. Nothing sinister or underhand.

I get mobile calls and data at no extra charge through my internet provider, Jazztel. Maybe try your provider first.

If not, I’ve heard Lobster is good. All English service apparently. Or pop into a mobile phone shop and ask for a SIM only deal.

I find it’s essential to have a Spanish number for all official paperwork, online orders etc.

I got one from the Orange store in the Habaneras. It seemed a good deal, it was SIM only and PAYG and cost 20 euros. I pop it in my phone when I need it and put the UK SIM back in when I don't.

Some things I learned along the way:

1) They don't have as many in stock as we do in the UK, so you might not get what you want immediately.

2) You have to show proof of identity

3) I believe it has to be linked to a Spanish bank account

My Orange PAYG SIM was recorded on the receipt as TRIPLESIM PREPAGO 4G MUNDO.

Hope that helps!

Paul

Hi, thank you, yes that is my local salud, as I can walk there in 10 minutes, my only concern is the EHIC card, I do have everything else, I will let you know the outcome when I decide when I chance it. Thank you again for your help. Stay safe and healthy and enjoy the weekend. Peter

I am a resident and paying someone to get my sip card.  This person sent my S1 form off 29th Dec and still nothing.  I did also apply for the new EHIC. As advised BY U.K but that was also in Dec and not received that yet.  So I am concerned at getting the vaccine I am 68 years old.  If I don’t have a sip card or ehic how do I get the      vaccine?

Hi and thank you for your reply, I am not entitled to a S1 or EHIC/GHIC as I have not reached retirement age, I feel the topic/post is about people who have only private medical insurance and trying to gain a temporary SIP Card/number to register for the vaccine here on the Costa Blanca. Stay safe and healthy and hopefully yours will sort itself out soon, if not keep following this thread for updates.

Lobster seem popular we pay 12€ a month we don't download a lot just emails use it mainly for texting & calls.

English lady called Lisa has a stand in La Zenia sometimes her number is +34 711 00 45 23 she set our account up while we waited & got us connected straight away.  Take a look at lobster.es

No, not on commission the salespeople in both phone shops were unhelpful.

I have sim only pay as you go with Digimobile which I got at PNTV. I credit €5 every 6 months. I have sim adapters if you need them.
