Dear all,

I am now a week away from getting my holiday property in Torrevieja.

I am still in the uK currently and keeping a close eye on the Covid situation, which is changing again all over the world.

I wondered what the current situation was in

Torrevieja?

I am also keeping an eye on the flight

situation and will probably not book anything until the last minute.

Thank you for this.

Quite interesting stats.

I live on the south coast in the uk and have very low numbers, whereas the North of the UK has many local lockdowns.

Thanks for this info. Very helpful. Does it relate to the city and/or the surrounding areas (urbanisations).

What is the source of the stats?

As of last Friday the Valencia area is the lowest in the whole of Spain, I’m from the Uk and feel very safe here, almost everyone bets the rules, masks at all times etc, it’s up to you, but to be honest I and my hubby are happy we are here instead of the Uk.

Here's the link to the WHO official numbers on Spain overall - updated daily.

https://covid19.who.int/region/euro/country/es

Statistics by province

Google 'covid numbers in valencia provincia' - you get the daily updated page.  Valencia province 7108 total new cases between 27 Sept to 10 October. I can't presently find the daily death count, but states 1644 since the beginning, though the population of the Valencia province (2018) was 2.5 million. It is presently one of the lower/lowest regions in Spain.

From my chats with family & friends in the UK at the moment, the weather is turning and Covid restrictions tightening. We may well see similar here  - most of the infection rates are North/Northeast Spain - with a week ago papers quoting Madrid & surrounding having 44% of the infections in Spain.

One benefit we do have over the UK here, is the climate is milder, so people still outdoors, walking, exercising and eating outdoors, so presently anyway probably a little safer - though of course still need to be careful.
