Hi there

Yes I have glass curtains on my balcony. They were great to start with, but now with age not so easy to travel to fully open the balcony.

Jane

How often do you silicone spray them?

Yes cleaning each panel is easy, because of the way they fold.

What I meant about cleaning was that the curtains show every handprint, from opening and closing  - if we remember we try to use a cloth to do so.

Also after rain or dust they show every mark and the sun then highlights the rain stained windows, which are impossible to ignore because of their size. They’re not difficult to clean, it’s just an additional job - and I hate cleaning windows.

Hi Lynn, invest in a window vac, they are great, wash or spray, you can add cheap vinegar, then vac the glass dry, i have lots of glass doors and its a doddle.

Unfortunately that doesn’t work for me. One side of the curtains is near a hedge and obviously higher than I can reach. If I put my window vac on it’s extender I haven’t got the room to slide it right down to the bottom. But I totally agree window vacs are brilliant. I’ve had mine for more years than I care to remember and it lives in my bathroom. Invaluable for shower screens, tiles, windows just not my glass curtains.

I think I’m really moaning about the frequency you have to clean them. My windows probably only get cleaned once every three weeks (or more if we’ve had red rain) , but the glass curtains need attention almost every other day. It the fingerprints on opening and closing them as well as dust and rain.

Summer is better as they’re pushed back for 18 hours a day, so not having to look through them!

Just an apropos. When I go away the windows/curtains  get really dirty.  But, if they hadn't been there  that dirt would have been all over my balcony.  That again means I would have to remove everything from my balcony before leaving. Now I leave it fully furnished, and even though windows are not see through, I can still eat there, and enjoy the warm sun immediately after arrival. Just saying. :D
