Hi currently thinking about replacing our kitchen. In the current kitchen we have a large water heating. We heard about an option where you can remove this tank all together and put a gas bottle fed instant water heater on the outside of your property. Can anyone advise if this option is any good or is there a better different option to heat water?

pThanks for any advice. Colm

We had mains gas for heating water and it also required a tank on wall in kitchen.

The water for shower seemed to run cold quickly even after an inspection/ investigation.   Perhaps it was because of hot water pressure to the showers which are a good distance from the kitchen?

So we have put in an electric water heater.  As you know there will be different sizes to suit every household.  Plus newer models are well insulated.

No loss of heat.    Plenty of hot water and timer can make use of cheaper rates.    Feels safer as just unplug when not using for extended periods.

Regards

Maria

HI, we have our water on gas, don't need a tank that comes straight out of the tap. Always hot (providing the gas bottle has some in) have an upstairs shower works perfectly and a downstairs bath n shower, you can have it outside, ask repsol to come and look. :)

Hi, it lasts ages when we just shower but if we bath (more winter than summer) then 3/4 weeks. During this time we are washing up, mopping floors, etc.

Having had an electric water heater I would recommend the gas but we use bottles not piped, once you have a contract you can call and get a delivery that day as long as you call before 10.00, you are also covered with insurance if you have a fire or flood if you have a contract if you don't they won't pay.

It only costs 40ish euros to have them check any and all gas connections every five years. We are often 4 people here.

The units from Repsol are a good price, try not to buy online as yes they are cheaper but they will not last long been there done that :)

So that you know only Repsol or Cespa can verify gas connections and if they fit the boiler you have a two year guarantee, they usually send a plumber who speaks English.
