Hi,

can I ass, do you get Prime TV with amazon.es? We have Amazon UK which includes Prime TV but they have again started blocking most content outside of the UK. It's £79 per annum in the UK and without the TV it is not worth it, especially as most products on Amazon can now be found c...

When we wintered in Spain 2020/21 we brought our Amazon TV Firestick with us and connected via the local internet connection and had no problem with TV programmes but we did need to use a VPM which was set for UK for ITV, Channel 4 etc. Didn't bother with BBC too involved.

I have no faith in Amazon at all.  Last year while in Spain I ordered a fold up wooden picnic table.  It cost around 40 euro and it never arrived.  It was not sent to my Dublin address either.  I tried writing to report it but never got a reply.  I'm a bit nervous to buy anything on Amazon now.

I’ve never had any problems. Admittedly many suppliers on Amazon UK now refuse to deliver to Spain, but with the exception of a few items, most things can be sourced either through Amazon Spain, Germany or France. I avoid all delivery charges by selecting one of the shops in my area which accepts and holds Amazon deliveries for a week, FOC. Never had any problems! They send an email immediately the item is at the shop and immediately it has been collected. All that’s required is the usual ID and the email advice.

Hi Aitch,

Amazon.es prime does come with Prime TV, biased towards Spanish language films/programs but there is also a good selection of English language films etc. It is also quite a bit cheaper than the Amazon.co.uk prime.

Cheers,

Bob

Thanks for that Bob.

Hi,

I've done the same with vpn's. I have tried several but I've never found one that allows you to access the popular sites, Netflix, iPlayer, etc, consistently, they all require playing around with different servers at different times. Express was the best but they still had problems with iPlayer,

I might trial a vpn whilst we are over and see if the situation has improved.

Rgds,

Aitch.

I've used NORD VPN in Spain. I was able to get iplayer but, if memory serves, you need to use a particular server. No  problem doing this  for even the least technically qualifed. You select the server in the UK they suggest.

I've not had any delivery issues but I mostly use Amazon in the UK. The things I have bought in Spain I had delivered to one of their pick-up points, Siesta Green Energy, next to  Consum in La Zenia, Always collected without an issue.

Getting in touch with Amazon is a problem everywhere!

Thanks. Nord VPN was one that I tried, also I PrivateVPN. As with Express they all worked intermittently and whilst the helpdesks were always helpful in suggesting alternate servers it was always a struggle. Getting normal terrestrial UK TV was never a issue, just iPlayer.

I use Express VPN and so long as it is connected via UK it worked fine.
