We face north east. We have air conditioning but hardly use it in the summer as sooner or later we shall need to go out into the heat and find it better not to have too large an increase in temperature. However, in the winter we switch it on to heat the apartment, which it does efficiently.
We hardly hear our neighbours, so noise is not particularly a problem.
I, and others on this forum, recommend quite strongly that before buying it makes sense to rent in your chosen location to make sure it’s the place for you. If not, it could take years to resell and your capital remains tied up.
We used trip advisor and rented for several short terms in different locations before we moved to where we are now. It had been our intention to buy, but we’ve now decided to continue renting as it will be far easier for our children to sort when the time comes, and we have no unexpected expenditure should expensive repairs to the building become necessary.
