Have you got your NLV sorted so you can get your residencia?

We have contacted the spanish consulite and are looking into everything we need to have. We are now concentrating on the area we want to live and the schools.

I think the poster has made it clear what information they require. Due to the number of times they have clarified this in their responses, I would assume they have everything else in order so I think it would be a good idea to just answer the original question if anyone is able to do this.

The only question I would ask of the poster is, are you enquiring specifically for Benijofar or for any other areas as well?

I can't assist unfortunately but it would be good for others to focus on the original question.

Hello Rob

The problem is.......when people ask these questions they are very often way ahead of them selves and don't know the requirements to live or work  here, let alone buy property & sort out schools.

If this family buy a villa near appropriate schools and then don't meet the requirements or qualify for the type of visa they are hoping for, the property will just become a holiday home for the limited 90/180  day visiting  periods

I know it seems annoying asking questions but until they have all the correct info. it is pointless and expensive to jump too far ahead with plans.

 Cheers

I agree with you considering some of the previous vague messages that have been posted by others.

However the number of times the poster reiterated what they wanted to know specifically, even after the number of questions that were asked by responders, suggested to me that they had all other matters in hand.

I just hope the poster gets responses to their original question.

Hi Rob, if only that were the case!
A short while back we had a single parent from the UK wanting to move here and was adamant she knew what she needed to know. There is no way on earth that she would have got a job (part time waitressing with all jobs having to be offered to EU citizens first) which would have paid enough to support herself and no way would she have got either a NLV or working visa.
We have members who will take a lot of time and effort to answer a question only for the OP to realise that, since Brexit, it is just a pipe dream.
Maybe I move in the wrong circles but I don't know many parents of young children who have the means to move here and not work unless they qualify for the Golden visa and send their children to International schools.

Just to claryfy I do not need to work as  I have more than enough means to support myself and my children. My husband also has a very high income. We have looked into everything that was needed and are now concentrating on were we would like to live.

OK, now your situation is clearer, how far away from Benijofar would you consider? Anywhere in North or South Costa Blanca, coastal, inland, high expat population or traditional Spanish, for example? Will you want your children to go on to higher education such as https://web.ua.es/en/centres-departments-and-institutes.html as this could affect your choice of location as public transport is not brilliant..
A large percentage of forum members are retired or semi-retired and have never had contact with schools but this may help, https://spainhomes.com/blog/life-in-spain/schools-in-costa-blanca

Note that some lessons may be in Valenciana.

This is an older thread Help on schools in Spain. State school or international?

I am sorry for all the questions but having been on the forum for about 5 years the same things come up again and again and you would be surprised how may Brits plan to move to Spain with little understanding of the processes involved, including needing to take a Spanish driving test within 6 months.

I hope the above will be of some help.

Hi Michi

I would now ask you the question, what type of area you would prefer? Would it be somewhere on the coast or inland? More traditional Spanish or somewhere with a larger immigrant community? Southern Spain which is hotter or a little further North which is more temperate?

I think it would be useful to members of the forum if they knew what type of lifestyle you were looking for and that way they could advise you accordingly.

Hello, one of the Costa Blanca, and actually Spain’s best schools, both Primary and High School is El Limonar International School. Now they are private, but teach both in English and Spanish, and when graduating, you get both the UK and Spanish diplomas ( will most probably change into the IBa in the future as the UK diploma is becoming irrelevant in the EU).

In terms of State Schools, they are not bad, but do understand that you will need to speak Spanish in order to interact with the teachers, to supervise their homework etc etc.

Also, part of the curriculum WILL be taught in Valenciano, and not in Castellano. Please be aware of that.

a very good State Primary school is the one in San Miguel de Salinas. People move there just to get into the school.
