I think that would be a great celebration :-) Which online language programme are you using and would you recommend? I keep looking but there are so many to choose from and they never publish the cost.

Hi Debbie

Have a look at Dr Danny Evans on YouTube. It doesn’t cost anything, he gets really good reviews and I feel as if I’m understanding it. I could just do with a better memory! Good luck

Hi!

We were hoping to move in September.  But, like everyone else, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.  We’ve had a holiday home on Orihuela Costa since 2004 and love the life there.  Wonder if it will be the same in future.

Hi everyone we've been here for nearly two years now and love it. My friends were also due to move here this month but their house purchase couldn't be completed because of lockdown. We'd be very happy to meet up with new people once you make it here 😄.

To listen to a very entertaining teacher speaking Spanish look for " Espanol con Juan" or 1001 reasons to learn Spanish. Excellent videos

Just looked at first Spanish lesson on YouTube with Dr Danny Evans. Nice easy pace so I’ll give lessons a go while in lockdown in central Ireland. Sure what else could I be doing  anyways. I expect a further extension date to be announced here next weekend (currently to 5 May) to curb people getting complacent as there’s June bank holiday looming😮.

If I only have 100 words more when next visiting my apartment in Torrevieja central, wouldn’t that be great☀️

Thank you so much for the recommendation - I checked this out last night (lesson 1) and really liked it so I'm going to continue every night after work, have to get something out of lockdown... Hoping to get out in September, not confident enough to book the flights yet, but by then I should be able to try out my new language skills in an actual conversation and not just random sentences!

Hey Debbie - glad you liked it. Let’s hope we learn something from it.  Keep in touch.

So this thread pops up a year later, did people make the move over okay?

By late May/ June last year we had put a deposit down on our house and by July 20th we had crossed over into France and started the drive down to complete the paperwork.

By September we had applied/ been granted a favourable outcome for our residency online with digi certs.

We received our new Spanish driving licenses early January after applying in early October.

Since January we have been mostly cold and wet, hopefully weather will pick up soon along with vaccinations which improve day by day here.
