Wendy please think this through carefully... we came last July with our 4 year old granddaughter and had to stay in a hotel for 6 weeks very expensive at this time ... couldn’t find a rental anywhere for 3 months ...
After around 7 weeks we purchased a property which we are extremely pleased with in Playa Flamenca which is where we wanted to be ....
With 2 girls aged 13 and 11 they will find it very difficult to pick up Spanish at this age ..
We retired here and were fortunate to be able to put the wee one into an international school ...It is a huge move and the red tape goes on for a very long time it would be good for your to find a gestor before you come ....
As far as I can tell there is a lot of jobs for carers and cleaners and as for bars the minimum wage is 600 Euro a month take away 20% tax ...
I am not trying to destroy your dream but please find out more before you take this leap of faith ...

I have to agree with Lesley rose....this is on hell of a leap of faith. I truly hope you land safely. Is this YOUR dream or do your children share it too. All the luck in the world to you and your children.

Hi Wendy,
Yes, you need to research thoroughly, but as you say, we only live once. Your daughters will pick up the language very quickly if you're living in a Spanish community. It seems to us that the urbanisations around Torrevieja are populated by expats, so English would be the only language needed, whilst the town itself remains Spanish, and the locals are very welcoming. I'm sure you would both be able to find employment through the holiday season, but, unless you speak fluent Spanish, you might then find difficulties earning an income sufficient to live on.
You only regret what you didn't do, why not take Len up on his remarkable kind offer and give it a try? You can always go back to Blighty with your heads held high if it doesn't work out, and the girls will have a wonderful experience in the meantime. With modern technology they can keep in touch with their friends from UK and make new friends over here. Good Luck whatever you decide

Hello
I'm looking to move some garden furniture from Leicestershire to the campomor area. Has anyone got any ideas or knows of someone coming that way with space.
Regards Amanda
