Firstly ‘ cálmate ‘ stay calm hon & don’t rush into anything. Yes, you’ll need an NIE If you want to buy something of high value in Spain & my experience is this is easier to do through local ‘abogado’ , for around just over €100 they’ll do all the legwork for you. Yes, you CAN do it yourself , but will cost a lot of time , & at present with offices etc on restricted time pay a professional is IMHO advice. Especially if your spanish isn’t good & you have time restrictions. Instead enjoy the hunt for a holiday home. , how lucky you are. Also yes, possibly need to do this before UK leaves EU. I’m a permanent resident in Spain, have lived here 7years, looking to move to coast in new Year. Currently work month off month on in UK as professional Carer for my lady who has end stage dementia.
