We are a large family, 2 adults, 4 children and another on the way. 1 of my daughters is down syndrome. I'm wondering about financial implications to move to Costa Blanca, i.e how much money would i need, do we have to find work first etc? Any information would be helpful 😉
To come without a firm offer of work would be folly work is hard to come by and long hours and many people are looking, depending on what you can do it can be sesonal if you can not aford to live here without working I would think long and hard about is sorry don't want to be negative just thinking about your family.
All the best with whatever you do.

Thank you for your comment.
My husband is a skilled construction worker and prepared to learn the basic language to move. I am childcare skilled and looking to go self employed when over there too.
Is there a best website for employment searching?
sorry to be negative but i totally agree with Ada

Work opportunities are sporadic and with no Spanish will be harder to come by. You have 4 kids which will cost you approx 2000€ per month in an English speaking school. Without being disrespectful the type of work you both do, even with a good level of Spanish wont pay much out here. Certainly not enough to run a home and school your children .
I wouldn't go any further with this idea

Gosh, last reply whilst being true about little work available, was very abrupt at telling them to abandon all hope of ever moving to Spain. I am sick of reading how theres no work available, when I have posted many posts requiring jobs to be done on my property and getting no responses.I am 70klms north of Alicante which ok is quite a bit of fuel cost for coastal workers but at the seemingly going rate of 100€ per day for labour even a cost of 20€ for fuel still gives a worker 80€ in his pocket and given my jobs have all needed at least a weeks work would equate to 400€ or more to pocket. I have a fencing job at the moment posted, and again no replies, so I,m sorry to say I dont think the majority of workers complaining about lack of work really want it unless its on their doorstep. I hope family7 dont lose all hope after your comment to give up now.

Do you have an idea of the cost of schooling at all?

Depends on ages etc. Budget at least 2500e per month. You would then need 5000e upfront registration / admission fees. You could try them in a Spanish school. Please I am not being negative and if it was only the two of you with a child i would say go for it. But with 5 kids one SEN I would say it's not sustainable based on the potential level of income available
i had a business here which my son now runs (i know its a bit specialist) but he travels the lengh of costa blanca and even down as far as mazarron to work...........paulsav is right you have to be prepared to work for it even if it means travelling.

Thank you. Is there such a company that can help with finding accommodation, advice on schools and jobs all in one place? Or do i have to do all this seperate?
