We have been regularly  bitten by fish on Los Locas beach sometime needed to wear clothes

However this year we haven't been bitten once and we swim every day.

That's comforting to know your back in the water guy's, thank you for that

Wow a year I must admit my leg is still hurting and I'm still limping strange little animals/insects here you don't know what's going to bite I have to spray myself every time I go out but still get bitten lol I'm like a magnet

Tesco's do garlic odourless tablets which we can't smell but the critters can, it could be worth a shot m8, and good luck going out

I’ve been bit a few times off the little buggers who swim in shallow waters ,in every sea I’ve Swam in. they usually go for little cuts or scratches on my legs 🙄

I wouldn’t worry though , I’ve dived with sharks never been attacked , but I’ve been attacked off a trigger fish while diving , that was scary had to swing for it with my torch the vicious little ####, I even got a photo which someone took somewhere of the culprit 😂...

...

OMG Craig that would have been scary, a friend of mine said perhaps the fish saw the hair on my legs wiggle and was biting at them

Count yourself lucky you didn't end up like this poor woman.

There are weever fish in the waters and mostly buried in the sand along the Coast. If you step on them the barbs are quite nasty and you need to immerse the sting in the hottest water you can bear to cook it and save yourself from severe side effects.

Regarding bites and stings in the water. I row from Plya Viananitos at Lo Pagan in my kayak/canoe. all the way to the old windmill . I see loads of jellyfish. There are stretches of nets which I have to row around to stop these things getting to the shore I see lots of then stuck in the nets but they can't net everywhere so some must get through. Beware if you go swimming .

Very helpful thank you Edward, so the local council are trying to keep our beaches safe, well that is very reassuring, thanks again Edward
