Here you go.  I was in Istanbul a couple of months ago and this place near where I stayed in the Besiktas area always had a queue outside.

It was never open in the evening as by then the whole thing had been sold.

Tell you one thing, it's difficult being a Pescatarian as it seemed every other shop in Istanbul was a Kebab outlet šŸ„“

I stayed in Besiktas albeit 20 years ago. There were lots of places to eat, down the hill they used to sell and prepare Turbot. Did you try Mer2 on Istaklal Street in Istanbul, Good mix of Fish and meat. I remember one place in another area with live music, The speciality was Fish baked in in salt in a wood oven....

Happy times

That baked fish sounds fantastic. I can't recall the name of my fave eatery now (happens when you get past 28 years of age šŸ˜Š), but suffice to say that overall I found Istanbul a wonderful place as long as you avoid the rip off restaurants around the Blue Mosque and the Haigia Sophia.

Good luck with your search in Torrevieja.

I too crave an authentic kebab, been very disappointed here .

Had some great ones in France, run by Algerians, excellent , so clean in their cafes too.

I have to agree with you! You used to be able to have varied and delicous food in Istanbul, now it is Kebab land!

just thinking, could you get an authentic recipe and cook it at home? that way you will always have the recipe that you love!
