Hi good people. I heard that electricity is cheaper to use at the weekend. Is this true? Or wishful thinking?

Depends on the deal you're on with your supplier, if any.

If you're on a flat rate then you'll pay the same per kWh 24/7/365

Go in to Leroy Merlin in Zenia Boulevard, there is an Iberdrola desk who will put you on the best tariff to suit your needs x

Hi

As Darro has said, it depends on your contract. The charts are valid only if you're on the government regulated deal.

In my case, I currently have cheap rate from 10am to 1pm and 6pm to 11pm every day.

Cheers

Steve

We paid 57 euros this month and 49 euros last month on the 8 hour plan. Everything is electric apart from the water which is usually 3 bottles of gas a year. I rarely put air con on but have fans on constantly, tumble dryer, freezer as well as numerous other appliances. 3 bed quad and 2 people

Hi thanks for replying, was assuming more like a 100 a month so pleasantly surprised. Me and missus moving over in October and are trying to work out a monthly budget, would you say 100 would cover both electric and water then. Thanks in advance

Hi Steve

We are also on the 8 hour plan, and our bills are similar to Gill, but in a smaller property - but we have an electric water  boiler. The bill rises to 90ish in winter when we use the Aircon for heating. So far so good....

However, I've just looked at our suppliers current advertising for the 8 hour plan - and the price per kWh in cheap rate is now about twice what we currently pay - fortunately for us, our contract still has 3 years to run.

Cheers

Steve
