Hi Everyone, I'm getting really fedup now with my electrics as they keep tripping out and I don't seem to have a lot of stuff plugged in. I'm trying to call Iberswitch but can't get through on the number on the website. I've also completed a form on line but not heard from them. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm located in the centre of Torrevieja. Mel

I don't know what supplier you are with, but I include the procedure here:
I'm not surprised you're having problems contacting Iberswitch, as I've yet to hear anything good about them. My impression so far is that, if you take their fees into consideration, you're unlikely to make a saving.
Hi Mel.i'm sorry to hear you are having those problems with your Electrics.
You do say they trip out when you are not using a great amount of Electrical appliances. Can you describe exactly what trips out. Is it a switch in your fusebox , and if so which one, or is it your your meter itself that trips out and has to be reset ?

Hi ya, it seems to happen at night when we have heater on and then someone goes in the kitchen using kettle, microwave etc. Sometimes the main fuse cuts and other times just partly cuts off. I've had Iberswitch confirm I haven't got a certificate for higher electricity usage so will need an authorised electrician to upgrade me now. I just need to arrange it now

I pay my electricity bill to Fernie via Iberswitch so who should I go to?

Thanks I will - probably now have to do this when we're out again next month as we're going back to UK next week

I have the same problem - it's infuriating - I actually arranged an upgrade thru' Iberdrolla from 3.5KW to 5KW last year, cost me 60euros and honestly there was absulutaly no difference whatsoever! - Plus I landed up paying twice as much on their tarriffs so cancelled it after 2months....with no refund of course!
It may depend on what Tarriff you are on - I opted for cheap evening electricity so perhaps they reduce the supply in the evenings?
I read somewhere last year that the whole of Torrevieja residents were to be upgraded to 5KW but as yet heard nothing more - I have travelled all over the world and only now realise what poor electricity Southern Spain has!

I've got a company coming out tomorrow to do a survey at a cost of 50 euros and this will be deducted from my final upgrade bill. I think it's to stop timewasters. They will, if I decide to go ahead, do all the administration for me. My electricity went off again this morning and all I had on was internet, tv, air con and washing machine. Really getting frustrated with it all now.

No I haven't seen upgraded yet and my meter is the original one fitted when apartment was built in 2004. Getting it checked out on Friday now.
Melanie, please let us know the outcome following the Friday visit.
Without further details of the problem, or actual Investigation, it is really difficult to help but ,I would suspect faulty Electrical appliance(s), or less likely, but possible, faulty Electrical wiring or fusebox .
