Morning everyone

I would like some advice, please.

My partner and I (both living in Spain) had two doses of the vaccine in the UK (2nd dose in May 2021) and a booster in Brazil in December 2021. If we can’t get the booster jab added to the nhs covid pass, how can we re-enter Spain (we need to go to the UK next week)? Will either a pcr or antige test do the job?

Thank you

As far as I know, UK citizen can only enter Spain if you are fully vaccinated according to their rules, and with a vaccine passport.

If you are a resident, there may be different rules. I cannot find it on the government's website, though, just that you have to show proof of residencia.

Your right that it is not clear what will happen if there is no 4th dose and the 270 day limit is reached on the booster dose. I would expect that the next steps will be clearer in a couple of months, I don't think anyone wants to stop people travelling around.

The advice to get a booster jab is so as to keep the immune system to the optimum to help fight off covid, that is regardless of whether you travel abroad or not....

...

I think that the EU 270 day rule was probably put in place to help encourage people to get a booster, but that's just my view.

Hi Gemily,

I get my pass via the NHS app but there is a link to get in on-line other than the app:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/get-digital-covid-pass/

I've never tried this method so not certain that it works but it should.

Relating to covid jabs.

I had two jabs which have now expired and don’t want a booster jab but I do want to visit my friend in Spain. Does anyone know how I can get around this and visit for a few days?

I had my 2nd vaccine at the beginning of May in the UK which is more than 270 days.  I had a booster in December and have just arrived here on Saturday so dont think its 270 days from the 2nd vaccine

If you had your second jab in May and then the booster in December you are fine.  You had the second jab in May and the booster in December, that's only 7 months between those jabs and its only 3 months since your booster in December.

The rule is you must have had the booster within 270 days of the second jab. 270 days is 9 months.

My friend has just had a letter inviting her to make an appointment to have a fourth dose - she is one of those people on the extremely clinically vulnerable list, so is prioritised. Hopefully, the rest of us will have a fourth dose in due time.

My brother in UK his 4th dose last week. He is very vulnerable.

I got this from the official Cyprus website which apparently reflects the EU rules:-

  1. Vaccines administered to passengers over 18 y.o. are acceptable for the purpose of travel, when the necessary doses of the respective vaccine have been completed. The accepted necessary dose is the third dose. It is understood that, the second dose, is still accepted, provided that no longer than 9 months have passed from the date it was administered.
  2. Vaccines administered to passengers under 18 y.o. are acceptable for the purpose of travel, when the necessary doses of the respective vaccine have been completed. The accepted necessary dose is the second dose, in case of a two-dose vaccine.
