Hi everyone.
We purchased our house last year and for convenience, arranged house insurance through our bank.

Our insurance is now due for renewal. Can anyone advise if it is best to go through the bank, or if there is a better alternative? Not sure how to shop around in Spain for house insurance!
Also, wondering how best to estimate the value to insure? With the property prices relatively low at present, I'm sure the demolition and rebuild costs are more than the market value. Is there a cost per square meter value that can be applied for insurance purposes?
Any advice would be very welcome.
Thanks
Mar
Hi
We have a property in Los Balcones.
I insure it through insure (they are based in uk, search on google)
I pay £13.37 a month and all there properties are insured for up to 1 million.
We do not rent our's out, but if we did the price would not change, you just have to inform them.

We are with Linea Direct, we have a large 3 bed 3 bathroom villa with pool, a lot of land. All our furniture and personal stuff. It’s covered for a re build of the property and it’s contents, it’s about 309€ for the year.

If you are part of a Community your Community insurance should/may cover 'building/structure' - ours does. You then only have to insure contents.

Be aware that Community Building Insurance may not give you full cover, check with your Presedenti or Administrators. We have Community buliding cover, however we still have our own personal building insurance as this gives you more protection.
