Hi Riaz,

To give you an idea we paid 120 Euros for a 2 bed apartment and that included Public Liability as we rent our property out in the summer.

Very nice helpful lady on the left hand desk as you walk through the doors when we went there.

Good luck.

Greg

Beware of stating that you rent your property out the Taxman will be a member of nearly all forums that's where they get a lot of their information by trawling

Public liability will not cover you for rental purposes you need Landlord Insurance for that

Thanks for the information about public liability and landlords insurance, which I will check out.

The taxman is very welcome to read that I am renting my property out as I will be declaring all my income. I also have a rental licence from Valencia, which is additionally required to legally rent your property.

I never assumed that and nowhere in my post does it say that, It was just a friendly warning as this is actually happening

Hi all,

I have been looking around for home insurance for a purchase of a property that is due in July and had a number of quotes, Linea Direct would not send me a quote to compare said I must take out the policy and then they would send me the details I have decded to use a broker in the UK specialising in holiday and homes abroad for a 2 bed town house bulldings contents acidential damage renting out etc £210 PA only approx £50 more than Linea Directa and better cover, english speaking and proberly easier if you do have a claim,Personally I think no contest Have a look Intasure will give online quotes, just one more option.

Yes...we use Intasure too for our holiday home and they send out a renewal quote on time to compare prices (unlike some Spanish insurers) and we managed to get cheaper price from Intasure by just ringing up and asking them to price match..like we do with all our other UK insurances.

Hi Jan,

Do you know if they would insure a residential home here, or is it just holiday homes? It seems strange that a UK firm will insure homes abroad. Do they have agents over here who deal with claims?
