You might get stung for "out of hours" charges after 11pm which can be €40 and personally I would never use "Do you Spain," unless you want to get done.

Do not use do you Spain, keep away from SOLMAR , Dickmanns, and the like. I agree always get full to full it's cheaper, Centauro are one of the best. we have used over 6 companies in the last 10 years several times a year and Centauro we have had the least problems with. You may find going direct with them maybe cheaper than using the comparison sites, we have found this several times.

We always use Do you Spain and apart from a bad experience with Dickmanns have never had any problems. I would never use Dickmanns again. Most companies charge a late fee if collecting at 11pm but Firefly out of hours charges don't kick in until midnight so should be ok for your partner. Whether you go full/full or full/empty depends on how much you are going to use the car. I have used full/full for short stays but need to be aware you are usually limited to 60 Kms per day for this option. Hope this helps.

Yes avoid Dickmans at all costs they conned us out of 140 euros last week by refusing our bank debit cards for the insurance caution. They were happy to accept them to pay for their insurance though. Absolute con artists

Hiya.we fly into alicante twice a month and use do you Spain everytime...they're like brokers and give you a list of all the companies at the airport....we tend to try and use firefly as they don't charge a late fee......as an example we flew in 6th July until 10th July so 4 days.they charged me 95€ and refunded 40€ for unused fuel so less than 15€ per day.......but that's without insurance as we took out a yearly policy with a UK company for £75 for 12 months...it's cheaper booking insurance with do you Spain or can take it with firefly or whoever you use.....sorry it's a bit of an essay but it can be a minefield and it's very easy to get stung....pm me if I can help further....we fly out this Thursday 20th for 7 days, can't wait!!!...phil
