I'll give you the best advice no one else will. Just for a little reality check.
Watch your drinking! Many expats come here, with spare time and money.
It's easy to make new friends - a good thing, but be wary, you will be surrounded by alcoholics. I have seen many of my neighbours fall by the wayside affecting their health and worse.
Sorry, I do not mean to ruin this for you - but if you have a healthy mentality, fill your time with positive things, exercise etc - not saying don't drink, just keep a close eye on the level - it's just a very easy path to fall into. I've been here 15 years and seen it happen to way too many people.
Enjoy life, make the most of the climate and fresh air & you'll enjoy yourselves.
