....and you don’t use any Finance through Banks or Building Societies, how sure are you the Villa is in a good working order and so the pool if any?... I am presuming if you use any Finance, your property would be checked by a Surveyor  but who could check the Villa if you don’t use any Finance?...

Hi, my family and I are looking to buy a country house in the alacante/valencia area, to use as a holiday home to start with but move to when the children are all grown up and moved out. We’ve looked at so many now, it’s sendimg me mad! Our biggest problem is POOLS! As it’s a holiday home and we’ve Not got a property to sell so our budget is only around €120000 we don’t mind a bit of a doer upper, but pool laws scare me. What are the general rules on installing roman style steps and tiling a existing legal pool? Is this somthing that permission is easily granted or not. Also what’s the laws on a brick built over ground pool? Keep getting mixed messages from all the different agents. Don’t feel we can keep looking till we know more about the pool situation.
