Why do we regrout pools?
We have to regrout a pool to keep the integrity of the structure,
with the glass tiles and fresh grouting in between the joints you have a watertight layer protecting the gunite and block work.
Missing grout can also lead to black spot algae which is a pain and and an expense to get rid of.
Pool tiles can also come loose leaving your pool patchy. This can be unsightly to the eye, and also gives algae a good place to bloom.
After five years it does not hurt to have a complete change of water in your pool. This will reset your CYA level (Cyanuric Acid).
This is what stabilises the chlorine in your pool, but too much of it will lead to you having to maintain a high chlorine level so that you can maintain sanitisation.
Pools need regrouting about every four to five years,
when a pool is grouted properly you will have the look of a brand new pool again.
Winter is just round the corner,
and regrout season will soon be starting.
