WFA  =  winter fuel allowance.

Hopefully, with a no-deal Brexit this S1 will not be paid for by the UK government for deserters from the "homeland" . Could go the same way as the WFA is currently not paid to Brits, legally living in Spain, France, Italy.. The UK will need to save loads of GBP and the S1 will be the easiest opt...

...ion and not affect the voters who put the politians in office..

The reciprocal healthcare scheme has nothing to do with Brexit. Its a scheme arranged between countries and its already been stated that it will carry on.

What rosé tinted glasses were you reading this from as of March, 2018 these ( I think important) people say this -

The Lords EU committee also stated: “‘Without more detail from the Government about how exactly it intends to maintain reciprocal healthcare arrangements or provide a suitable replacement, this report argues that we should not take the future of UK-EU reciprocal healthcare for granted.”

Everyone will see in 7 months I guess but better to be prepared than unprepared in the likely event of a no-deal Brexit.

Thats quite possible for future applications for S1 but those who have it now will keep it as it is now. That has been publicly stated.

Anyway you are just quoting something from the house of lords, don't mean nowt.

Reciprocal mean to pay each country back for countries that have signed up to it. Will Spain stop paying the UK etc?

Scaremongering matey!!

Hi Jordan,

I'll give you some key points to consider:

Cleaning companies are in abundance around Benidorm. I have someone who cleans for me and does the whole apartment for €10.

It's expensive to start up your own business here in Spain. You will need licensing from the local council and you have to pay around €250 monthly for the pleasure of working for yourself.

After certain periods of time you have to register with the authorities and prove you have enough income so not to become a burden on the state and also have healthcare. After 6 months you will become a tax resident and have to pay tax to the Spanish government.

I might sound negative but so many people get caught out.

Do plenty of research.
