Driving just recently has become more of a hazard than a pleasure due to the state of some of the roads in the area.

Potholes, undulations, subsidence it is all there to see. Road markings in places are non existent.

Who is responsible for the road repairs, I emailed the Town Council twice but have had no reply, what does one do when

their car is damaged by the poor road conditions. Surely someone has to be accountable.

Regards

It's a fact of life out here, especially if you live in the country. If we all paid UK levels of council tax, then the town halls would have the funds to maintain the roads.

One of the local caminos that I travel most days has some real wheel-wrecker potholes, which just means driving slowly and carefully.

And having a bit of a dig, I'd point out that it's not the road that damages the car; it's the driver.

What does annoy me is that when they eventually fill potholes, they just put tarmac in it and tamp it down, instead of blowing out all the loose stuff and then painting it with liquid bitumen before filling with tarmac.
