Wow,

Infected tourist?

Uk has a population of 66million, without being to accurate there are less than 5,000

People in hospital with Covid-19, of course there are a numbers  at home too. Take into account how many might actually be flying to spain and  You could also say that any with Covid-19 will be turned back and sent home long before they board the plane. So what infected tourist.......

This thread was started by UKHandyMan4Hire for members to share their experience of their trip to Spain under the present Covid 19 restrictions. Such shared experiences could well be of much help and reassurance to people travelling in from the UK .

It does seem to have been derailed from it's primary Topic , I.e. first hand experiences of recent travel in and out of Spain since the opening up date of 21st June, resulting in the posts relating to first hand experiences  of recent travel being 'lost'within the other comments.

2nd July 2020 finally time to go home. Bit of a long post, but I hope it's helpful.

Alicante to Manchester Airport mid morning flight so arrived at Alicante airport 8.25am for our flight with Ryanair at 10.50am which was on time. We had Priority boarding and that was all the same as usual.

LOCATOR FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AS YOU WON'T BE LET INTO THE UK AT THE MINUTE WITHOUT IT & IT WILL CAUSE YOU LONG DELAYS IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE IT. My advice.....print a copy out as it's much quicker than trying to open it on your mobile, plus, a Border Control Officer said sometimes the link to the PDF is corrupted and won't open.

Main entrance to airport: Revolving door entry is stopped, so you can just walk straight through.

Masks to be worn at all times covering nose and mouth in airport.

Toilets: Hand sanitiser at door. Automatic soap and water dispenser and Dyson hand dryers.

Check in: at desk you will scan your own boarding pass and show passport (Staff do not touch them at all).
Passport Control: Slower than normal putting bags and people through. No temperature checks. Hand sanitiser available.

Departure Lounge: seats and tables all Social distances. Only one food outlet open, but the queue for food is not too bad, being around 5 minutes (2 bottles of water and 2 ham and cheese baguettes €15.20). Counters are wiped down every time someone has paid at the till. Staff member going round sanitising tables and chairs once people have eaten too.

Shops: Not all open. All Duty Free open though.

Proceed to gate: No Social distancing and queued for over 15 minutes. Only 64 on the flight. Masks as usual but children age 12 and under don't need to wear them. No alcohol served. You need to ring for the Air Staff if you need to go to the loo. No walking up and down the aisles unnecessarily.

Manchester Airport arrival: Border control first check if you've completed Locator Form, if not filter off and 3 staff helping to complete. If you've done it, go to Passport Control, after a second check you've completed the correct form. Once at Passport Control, third check where the 3 page form is checked through by Border Control (only 2 staff doing this) and compared to your passport details before you go through the normal scan process.
NB.... no Social distancing in this queue. There were only 64 people on our flight so we got through within 15/20 minutes, but I dread to think what it would be like if a few planes landed at the same time.
No temperature checks at Manchester Airport either. Flight arrived 15 minutes early to Terminal 3 and baggage was through quickly.

We are flying Gatwick-Alicante on Thursday (2 July) with Ryanair and will share our experience of travel. Wish us luck!

This is the Spanish health website https://spth.gob.es/ which has the 5 page questionnaire. You need to check in for your flight first and have your seat number & flight number handy to complete questionnaire - one per adult. The website will generate a QR code for you to print. If you have the QR code, you do not need the pdf form. I assume this is so that the health authorities can track & trace all passengers should anyone on the flight have the virus.

We found Gatwick extremely quiet yesterday. Only the North Terminal was open and there were not many flights operating all day. Ryanair only had 1 flight to Spain all of yesterday from Gatwick. There were only 2 bag drop desks open. Duty free was open but apart from that only 1 branch of WH Smith and one of Boots was open in the departure lounge. It was eerie to see so many jets parked up at Gatwick. Our flight was only 75% full so it wasn’t too bad on board. Masks had to be worn at all times except when eating or drinking your meal deal from Boots. Some passengers ignored the flight attendants who asked people NOT to queue in aisle for toilet! What surprised me was that Ryanair were flogging food & drink on board. The only time we didn’t socially distance was the transfer bus from aircraft to Immigration - we were all squashed into one bus. Thankfully we were the only flight landing at Alicante, so immigration & baggae claim were quick & easy. Once you have your luggage do you proceed to scan your QR code or completed locator form. Don’t panic if you neither as there are tables, blank forms and helpful staff in the arrivals hall. I don’t know what the experience will be like once more flights are operating, though.

Thanks for the feedback. Our turn shortly. We are on the first flight today which should’ve been out of Gatwick but now changed to Heathrow. A first for us. Again, I will also let you k ow our experience.

Hi , we travelled by car this week to Torrevieja wed/Thurs not all hotels open in chartres where we stopped and the toll road between Calais and Rouen which was €8.40 when we went back in march is now €15.70

Morning - as part of your journey did you have to register for the FCS travel app?

All of the web resources I have read instruct that this is applicable for all traveller arriving from UK into Spain and is enabled via an APP.

I can't find anywhere which instructs it's use if travelling by car.

Anyone know from recent practical travelling experience.

Thanks

ps we have printed off a form/ declaration for when entering France via eurotunnel.
