Pete, to summarize, you are a retired IT director for a multi billion pound company and you are buying £ 2.00 knock off Win 10 licence's from eBay.
Very professional.

Peter, quite obviously I do not want to pay full retail price for Microsoft's software, but in all honesty I could not advise others in an open forum to buy £ 2 rip offs from eBay that can shutdown anytime, if this is the type of advise that has helped you gain super helpful status on here God help us.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.
I agree the £2.00 rip offs is my term and not yours, so buy these at your own risk.
As for these rip offs shutting down i suggest you check following link.
I understand they are MSDN kicences which ebay sellers have got hold off and sell cheap, they are not valid for resale, once again this is explained in the link above.
In answer to your question are the softwaregeek licences i suggested any different, yes, unlike ebay softwaregeeks supply support and replacement product if there is a problem, you yourself in an earlier post admitted ebay sellers do not offer support, am i correct ?. Thought so.
Lastly i doubt many would find this thread entertaining, sad possibly, that my post put up in an attemt to help the less PC literate has been hijacked by a guy (i assume a guy) with some sort of massive chip on his shoulder, you do yourself nor this site and favours.

Pete, keep guessing, it seems to be what your good at.
As for the fact you have never needed support that may be due to being PC literate, my post was not intended or aimed at the PC literate but at those less expert users that were receiving Microsoft popups telling them support for their product was ending.
Possibly you misread my initial post in your haste to disagree.

Pete, glad it's you recommending the free upgrade option and not me, just hope those left with an inoperable machine remember who suggested it.
Anyone that knows anything about PC s would recommend a clean install.
As for your two pound eBay rip offs it seems you know better than Microsoft.

Pete, do ever give links or facts to support you posts or do you really believe you are correct all the time, you disregard the Microsoft link I gave, you disregard the clean install link.
You seem oblivious to the fact my post was for the less lterate PC user who is unlikely to clone his / her operating system.
Starting to think you just like to listen to yourself, are you married or bored single.
About the only thing I do agree with is that Windows 7 users do something, hence starting the thread in the first place.
