I've always paid by direct debit now I'm told visit the bank with certain paperwork or they will freeze account this is the second time they have done this

We have a place in Spain since 2004, the bank as change names a few times, but we always transfer money from the UK to the Spanish bank account, no problem ,we have to go in every two years with documentation ,to prove we live in the uk

Perhaps it's just me having a rant but in 20 yrs I've not had to do that only since Brexit
It's not the going in the bank it's the pressure of the time they give then if you can't get over they freeze account
I'll be over soon to sort it

No we have done it for tears it an EU ruling, ny neighbours in Spain have never done it, but its not a bad thing because its stops a lotbof fraud

I believe in old school doing things face to face so any mistakes can be made on the spot and you get written conformation in your hand which you can check there and then, so any mistakes can be rectified on the spot, don't forget Spanish banking hours are completely different to UK banking hours 8:30am to 2:00pm! Thursday is 8:30am to 6:00pm, but check these times as they change during the low season and high season and you can only deposit up to 11:30am, good luck
