Not sure any of that is at all relevant, it’s nothing to do with pre booked covid tests for when you enter the UK, nor the UK passenger locator documentation. If you went to a clinic in Spain for a pre departure lateral flow test and you tested positive for Covid they would not issue an all cle...

...ar cert, which you need. And I’m sure they would not just let you walk into the street in the knowledge that you are potentially covid positive. Or at least I would hope not !. There will be a procedure that the clinic must professionally follow. Either way, I would doubt you would be on the flight home, you would be taking a PCR test and if confirmed, Isolating in Spain. And even if that wasn’t the case, would you, already knowing you had tested positive try and fly home, I would like to think most responsible people would not. So bottom line, if you failed your test in Spain you are most likely staying there until you are fit to fly.

Hello Hew

You are correct because the test center where I go for the last 2 times would not let you fly.

She has had form you fill in and to cut a long story short...

If I tested positive there and then she told me she would have to call the authority and let them know then they will give you instructions on what to do next...not sure what they would say or do but you wouldn't be flying home.

Sue 😘

Procedures are already in place, should you test positive for Covid while in Spain:

Thanks Kim

I was just going to search for what would happen for tourists, residents and anyone else 👍

It's a bit scarey if your on holiday in Spain for a few weeks and then you get a positive 🤯.

You can't return to the UK and have to isolate, change your flight, hotel bill etc, pure nightmare!!!

Sue 😘

Of course they are, the same as everywhere else, you can’t just expect to test positive for covid then walk out. The same as you can’t expect to just fly home after a positive covid test, you would quarantine. That’s the whole point of having the tests!

The relevance as you put it is unimportant as far.as I'm concerned, what is important to me is the decisions governments are making to peoples lives ,the months when a test was not required before flying there is no difference  covid was there.then and is still with us ,therefore no justification in reintroducing tests ,I've showed how  with my experience the flaws in the system ,not designed to protect but fleece people

I don't expect not to follow these rules, I simply provided the link in response to another member asking whether they existed.

The only thing you can be sure with this government is uncertainty

I think to be fair it is COVID that is uncertain. If you really know what is going to happen and how this plaque is going to develop then you can make a lot of Dosh.  However if you are like the rest of us mere mortals then you make the best decisions you can with the information you have at that moment in time.

Hi Sue, cant blame you for being upset, I would be. It now gives the covid testing companies in Spain and the U.K, another chance to rip us off  with their exorbitant prices

My friend returned to the UK this morning.  Yesterday, she attended a clinic in Guardamar for a Lateral Flow Test at a cost of €40.  She bought exactly the same test kit there for €3.95 because, in addition to her Day 2 test, she wants to take an LFT before she leaves the UK to return to Spain next week.  The difference in cost is because the first test is administered by a clinician and an official certificate produced of the test result, but it's the UK government that is mandating the use of private clinics, rather than self-administered tests, not Spain.

Kind regards,

Kim

Yes but Spain is stopping families travelling to Spain with children over 12 if not double vaccinated, the norm being one dose for children over 12 in UK ,in effect barring children of over 12 years from travelling with their parents
