I'm sure I read some time back on this forum that you could have had a camera generated speeding ticket which you don't know about until you check www.dgt.es That is to say no paperwork is sent out, the fine sits there gathering interest (?!) until you pay it.

Is this correct?

Looking at the site it appears to suggest that tickets are mailed. Anyone know for sure? (Had a bit of a James Bond moment on the AP-7 last week 😥)

Hi Steve, I have a friend who received a speeding ticket in the post, but can't remember if that was ordinary post or carta certificada.

Get yourself an electronic certificate and register with DGT for electronic notifications. That way you'll know straight away, and won't have any problem paying within the 50% discount period.

Whereabouts on the AP7? There aren't any radar traps on my stretch, but there is one in Valencia province and four in Castellón.

Thanks Jim, good advice as ever.

It was just as you join the Alicante A-70 by pass from the north just after the AP-7 tolls at El Campello. I was touch and go for a flight, and I thought I saw a flash above me as I accelerated onto the A-70 but it was the night before the bad storms so possibly what I saw was a lightning flash and not a camera flash.
